Aside from seeing dogs running into piles of leaves, perhaps our favorite part of the season is the autumnal pies. This one isn't your typical Pecan Pie, though. To reduce the cloyingly sweet, sticky texture associated with the classic version, ours uses a mix of dark and light corn syrup. Our other secret ingredient: chopped dates. Dates provide a natural sweetness and a wonderful texture to this Thanksgiving standby.
