Caramel Apple Pie
Fall flavors are upon us. We wish the summer could last forever (well, after those 100 degree days, maybe not so much). But as we say good bye to berries, rhubarb, and stone fruit, it is full apple season here in the Midwest. And nothing screams fall like our Caramel Apple Crisp Pie. Made with caramelized apples, this year we'll be returning to our classic oatmeal crisp topping for this hearty pie. After we lightly cook apples in a caramelized sugar, they're tossed with classic flavors like cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cloves. Not needing refrigeration, it's a great pie to bring to a picnic or for that long car ride to Grandma's.
